«Projets sous verre»

« For the intermediary step of “Projet sous verre” (under glass project), Piano Nobile becomes a space of narration with a warm and animated light set up. Muriel Décaillet investigates the window as a link between the inside and the outside, between the private and the public space by reproducing an intimate space. The installation plays with the commercial aspect of the window, as well as its call to voyeurism. In an explicit scene, the artist places hybrid characters, zoomorphic woman protagonists, charged with symbols.  The installation evokes waiting and represents mechanical gestures that awake collective memory, a feminine tradition. We witness the making of a cylinder crocheted by gifted hands. The vision of the tube so manufactured creates the link with a cloth tensed through the space, a canal that connects the bodies of the characters to the windows – place of reception of the spectator. Decorated with woven threads and colourful lightning that enhance specific elements of the installation, the inhabited space has two aspects or two lives. By night the allusion to hot districts shop windows is explicit, while the use of particular objects and materials settles this funny little world”
