Twenty and one month: gestation period of a female elephant.  21 “I”s and a baby elephant is an allegory of our own birth where feelings of loss, pain and wounds are evoked.  The references to childhood are suggested by the materials and objects chosen, whereas we can make out the references to the adult world through the use and rerouting of these same materials and objects.  By integrating a music box, I try to conciliate these two periods of life as well through the choice of the object itself than through the melancholic sound of its melody which will slow down, stop and then wind up.
